Your Corporate Apparel Doesn't Have To Be Plain
Plain printed apparel screams plain business.
But you don't have to spend big money to make a big impact.
Working with good designers and good garment printers can help your company stand out in world of boring throwaway apparel.
As a now 10+ year apparel decorator, I’ve been able to work with a range of clients from small bands printing their first line of merch all the way to fortune 500 companies corporate and event apparel.
The ones that make an impact have many of the same traits big or small. Making that right impression can make or break the success of the business.
So how should you make sure you’re getting the most out of your printed goods?
Identify your audience & the message they receive.
This might seem a bit obvious, but I assure you - most people are too busy thinking of themselves as the audience to think about what others think.
What are the shirts or other apparel needs for?
If it’s a landscaping company for example, here is an example of how to identify these components:
Company type: Landscaping
Apparel needs: For landscape crew
Field Location / environment: Yards and outdoor business courtyards
Audience: Anyone who sees us working.
Goal of Apparel : To make them see our great work and use us for their landscaping needs.
DESIGN - Make them actually see you
If you are trying to run a successful business, you want more customers right?!
People are accustomed to seeing people working and we are almost trained to let them do their job and give them space, which means often times we don't even look their way.
If you want your apparel marketing to be seen, MAKE them see you and be remembered.
Here is an example with that same landscaping company…
Design and Attention Getter: Pun text: “The grass is always greener... where we are” in clean font with tattoo style roses and flowers illustrated growing around the words.
Make sure to design the art with the ability to put the company name under the design on the back as well. This only needs to be read when close by to someone wearing the shirt, do not worry about making it large enough for distance or “at a glance” viewers.
Make the art and design draw them back to want to know more.
Making your shirts much more memorable and if possible, desirable, will assure better customer retention and more successful day to day marketing.
