How It Works

Film In, Loud Shirts Out.

DTF stands for direct-to-film. Your art prints in full color onto a transfer film, then we heat-press it onto the garment. No screens to burn means no setup fees, and full-color printing means gradients, photographs, and fine detail come out exactly like the art.

  • No screen fees, ideal for runs under 24 pieces
  • Full-color, photo-real artwork and gradients
  • Names, numbers, and one-off personalization
  • Works on cotton, blends, and most fabrics

Straight Answers

DTF or Screen Printing? We'll Tell You Straight.

DTF isn't better than screen printing. It's better for different jobs. Small quantities, complex full-color art, and mixed garment orders lean DTF. Bigger runs with bold spot-color art lean screen printing, where per-piece pricing drops fast.

We run both in the same shop, so we have no reason to push you to the wrong one. Send the art and the count, and we'll quote the method that actually serves your job. The full breakdown is in our guide to screen printing vs. DTF vs. embroidery.

  • Mix sizes, styles, and shirt colors in one DTF order
  • Designs ganged onto film efficiently to keep costs down
  • Pressed in-house on commercial heat presses

Good Questions

DTF, Answered.

More on the full FAQ page.

What is DTF printing?
DTF (direct-to-film) prints your artwork in full color onto a transfer film, which we then heat-press onto the garment. It reproduces gradients, photos, and fine detail that traditional screen printing can't, with no screens to burn and no setup fees.
Is there a minimum order for DTF?
No. DTF is our go-to for runs under 24 pieces because there are no screen fees. Order one hoodie or a dozen tees and the process makes sense either way.
Should I choose DTF or screen printing?
DTF wins for small quantities, photo-real or full-color art, gradients, and names and numbers. Screen printing wins on per-piece price for larger runs with fewer ink colors. Tell us your job and we'll recommend the right method honestly.
How durable are DTF prints?
Pressed correctly, DTF prints are vibrant and durable, flex with the fabric, and hold up to regular washing. We press everything in-house on commercial heat presses and dial in time and temperature per garment.
Can you mix garment types and colors in one DTF order?
Yes. Because DTF transfers press onto almost any fabric, you can mix sizes, garment styles, and colors in one order. We gang multiple designs onto film efficiently, which keeps small mixed orders affordable.
